LA METRO SEGD



As a Signage and Environmental Graphic Design Intern, I was given the amazing experience to design projects across the LA Metro transportation system including signage and wayfinding, environmental graphics, contributed to our award-winning pictogram library and promotional event materials. I also had the unique opportunity to be a part of a system-wide rebrand from colors to letter lines to increase accessibility.

LA Metro SEGD is the agency's in-house environmental graphics team that develops designs for a vast majority of rail and bus transportation system in Los Angeles County.

WAYFINDING PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT



Select attendees of the AIGA Design Conference could sign up for a tour of our Metro Art & Design Studio. Working with our team to understand the placement of each exhibition, I was able to create a wayfinding program for to help guest navigate our studio.





SIGNAGE AND ENVIRONMENTAL GRAPHICS



Station signage, parking signs, facility environmental graphics, bus side elevations and wayfinding are just a handful of projects I had the opportunity to design and learn about material fabrication and sign codes.





PICTOGRAM LIBRARY ADDITIONS



The pictograms are an integral part of the wayfinding system at LA Metro. Starting from sketches within the grid and researching existing pictograms, I helped craft the Scooter, Airplane and Airport Shuttle Pictograms currently being used at LAX/Transit Center and Union Station.





SEGD EVENT MATERIALS



Our team and I developed a suite of SEGD and pictogram influenced promotional materials for community outreach and engagement.
